ButtonBar Module
Introduction
The ButtonBar module allows you to make a panel of buttons on your SharpBar? that will allow you to open a directory or drive, launch a file, or execute SharpShell actions with a single click.
Settings
To set up ButtonBar click on the module's throbber and select Settings. To create a new button, click on the "New..." button. This brings up another window. The caption is the text that will sit next to the button; if you leave it blank, you will only see the button on the bar.
With Icon Location, you can also specify an alternate icon here. You have a few choices here.
- Shell Icon: this is a list of (if any) stock icons that are related to your action. Some *.exe files have many different icons to choose from, whereas others have only one. Some actions have none at all, like scripts and actions.
- SharpE Icon: This is a list of icons that are included in your current theme.
- Custom Icon: select this if you have your own icon that you would like to use. Browse to the location and select it.
The last field, "Click Action", is the button's target. Press the "..." button next to the textbox to browse to they type of action you'd like the button to have. These are the possible choices:
- File: To browse through your files select "Open..." Browse through and select the file that you would like to be used. You can also use the "recent" and "Most Used" options and these bring up a list of your recent and most used files.
- Drive: This opens a list of the drives on your computer to choose from.
- Directory: With this you can browse through your directories like in the File option, or choose from a list of shell folders, which are predefined Windows folders.
- Script: This opens a list of SharpScripts? that are available, such as Close All SharpBars?.
- Actions: SharpE-related actions that to choose from, such as toggling SharpNotes?, or refreshing SharpDesk?.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make my ButtonBar look like my Windows QuickLaunch?
Yes; create buttons for all the applications on your QuickLaunch bar without captions, and set "Button Size" to 20px.
